Turn any Taobao, Weidian or 1688 row into a KakoBuy link, and back again

Checked and updated .

Short answer: Paste one marketplace link per line and the converter builds the matching KakoBuy link in the format kakobuy.com/item/details?url= followed by the encoded original address, which we tested on 12 October 2026. It also unwraps existing KakoBuy links back to the original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 page, and adds links for open backup agents whose link format we could document. Nothing is sent to a server.

Runs in your browser. Links open the agent's own site; check price and options there before paying.

What the converter actually does to a row

Every row in a KakoBuy spreadsheet is a marketplace listing in disguise. KakoBuy's product pages take the full original address as a parameter, so a Weidian item becomes kakobuy.com/item/details?url= followed by the encoded Weidian address. We loaded exactly that pattern on KakoBuy's live site on 12 October 2026: the page showed the item in yuan with a dollar estimate, an estimated international shipping figure, and the note that KakoBuy buys between 09:00 and 18:00 Beijing time.

The converter does three small jobs. It cleans the marketplace address down to the item number, dropping tracking parameters such as spm= or spider_token= that make sheets messy. It wraps the clean address in KakoBuy's format. And it reverses the process: paste a KakoBuy link and you get the original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 page back, which is the copy worth saving in your own spreadsheet template.

Keep the original marketplace address in every row; an agent link is only a wrapper around it.

KakoBuy's help centre names Taobao, Tmall, 1688 and JD.com as "well supported" platforms and says other links can be filled in by hand. Weidian links open normally on the live site, which is why Weidian rows are the most common in sheets. For JD.com, paste the product page into KakoBuy directly; the converter does not rewrite JD addresses.

If a row is a short link, open it once, copy where it lands, and convert that.

Backup agents in the output

KakoBuy is open, but rep.tools (which earns a KakoBuy affiliate commission) described a brief website outage in mid-August 2026, and readers asked how to keep a sheet usable when one agent stalls. So the output adds links for agents marked Open in our agent status list, checked on 12 October 2026, where a link format was documented in our notes. Agents that are closed, on hold or moved (CNFans, AllChinaBuy, MuleBuy, ACBuy, HubbuyCN) are left out on purpose: the old HubbuyCN format no longer opens on its new domain, and the others should not receive new money.

An agent missing from the table is not a judgement on it: we simply had no confirmed format. Pasting the original address into any agent's search box works almost everywhere. Before you switch, read that agent's page, for example Oopbuy as a KakoBuy backup or Superbuy's fee table, because storage days, photo rules and fees differ.

Use the backup links to compare, not as a reason to spread one haul across several warehouses.

After converting: four checks before you pay

  1. Open the KakoBuy link and confirm the page shows a price and the size or colour named in the sheet. A missing option can mean the seller changed the variants.
  2. Compare the yuan price with the price written in the row. A large jump can mean a different listing behind the same photos.
  3. Look for warehouse photos of the same item number; our guide to KakoBuy spreadsheet rows with QC photos explains what they can and can't prove.
  4. Estimate the shipping with the KakoBuy shipping calculator before you add more rows; on light hauls shipping is often the biggest line.

A printable version of these checks, with three more, is in the row-check CSV. If you would rather not open an agent account at all, scan our WhatsApp QR on the contact page, send the links and pay per order.

A converted link is only as good as the listing behind it; the four checks take two minutes per row.

Questions buyers ask

Why does the converter need the original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address?

Because the item number belongs to the marketplace, not to KakoBuy. A KakoBuy link is just the original address wrapped inside kakobuy.com/item/details?url=. If a sheet row only carries a shortened link or another agent's internal number, there is nothing to unwrap. Open that link once in a browser, copy the marketplace address it lands on, and paste that instead; then every agent can read it.

Can it convert Yupoo album links?

No. A Yupoo page is a photo album, not a shop listing, so it has no price, no options and no checkout for KakoBuy to buy from. Sellers who post on Yupoo usually also have a Weidian or Taobao shop; the album often names it. Find the matching listing there, paste that address into the converter, and you get a working KakoBuy link.

Are the backup-agent links guaranteed to work?

No. We only build links for agents whose format appears in our agent notes, read on 5 and 6 October 2026, and only for platforms where the mapping is known; HooBuy and USFans use platform numbers, and three agents are offered for Weidian items only. Agents change their sites, so if a link opens an empty page, paste the original address into that agent's search box instead.

Does the converter store or send my links anywhere?

No. The page runs a small script in your browser. It reads the text box, rewrites the addresses and shows the result on the same page; nothing is uploaded, logged or saved. Closing the tab clears everything. That also means the tool cannot check whether a listing is still live: open a few converted links yourself before you pay for anything.

What should I do with links from CNFans, AllChinaBuy or PandaBuy sheets?

Those agents were closed or offline when we checked on 12 October 2026, but most of their links still carry the original marketplace address inside a url= parameter. Paste the whole old link; the converter tries to pull the Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address out of it. If the old link only holds an agent-internal number, the original listing has to be found again by shop name.
