How a sheet reaches you: four hops, four chances for a bad link
A KakoBuy spreadsheet rarely arrives straight from its maker. A creator posts it in a Telegram channel, adds it to a Beacons page, drops it in a Discord server or tucks it into a TikTok bio. By the time you click, you may be three links away from the sheet and four from a marketplace. Each hop is a place where a link can be shortened, swapped or sold.
That does not make these channels bad. They are where fresh finds appear first. The problem is that nothing about the channel tells you who stands behind the link. This page names no channels, creators or servers; it gives you a method that works on all of them.
KakoBuy's own pages are short on guidance here. Its announcements point to Reddit and Discord for event news and compensation updates, and its homepage links an official Discord server, but across the 142 help articles and announcements we read on 12 October 2026 we found no mention of Telegram. Anything claiming to be KakoBuy's Telegram support is unverified.
The channel is only a delivery route; judge every link by its hostname and request.
Channel by channel: link type, risk and the check
The table lists the places sheets are shared, the link you typically get, what can go wrong and the quickest test.
| Channel | Typical link type | Main risk | Check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Telegram channel post | Google Sheets link, shortened link or a file attachment | Edited posts; shorteners; attached APK or files | Read the link preview; never open attachments you did not expect |
| Telegram group or DM | Whatever a member sends | Impersonation; requests to pay or log in | Ignore payment requests; verify on kakobuy.com only |
| Beacons or Linktree page | A menu of links, some with referral tags | Mixed destinations; look-alike buttons | Hover to read each hostname before tapping |
| Discord server | Pinned sheet links and invites | Impersonated support staff; DMs with links | Use the server link from kakobuy.com; ignore unsolicited DMs |
| TikTok bio or comment | Link in bio, often a link-in-bio page | Short-lived links; comment spam | Open from the bio only and expand shorteners |
| Reddit post | Sheet link plus photos | Dead rows; wrapped links | See our Reddit page |
Two habits help on the first two rows. Messages in a channel can be edited after you read them, so reopen the post before you rely on a link you saved from memory, and note the date. And a forwarded message loses its original context: you cannot tell who first wrote it or when. On link-in-bio pages the risk is different. The page owner can swap a button's destination at any time, so a link that was safe last week may not be today; check the hostname on the day you click, not the day you bookmarked it.
Notice that none of these routes needs your KakoBuy password. A sheet is read-only information. The moment a route asks for a login, a deposit or a download, it has stopped being a sheet and become something else. For the broader question of what counts as an official page, read our guide to official KakoBuy sites and lookalikes.
Sheets never need your password; a request for one ends the conversation.
Five checks before you open any shared link
Run these in order. They take under a minute and cover the common failures.
- Read the link preview. Telegram, Discord and most social apps show a title and domain under the link. They should match what the post says.
- Expand shorteners without logging in. If you see a shortened address, use a preview or expander before opening. If the real address is not a Google Sheets page, a marketplace or kakobuy.com, stop.
- Check the redirect. If a page opens and the address bar shows a different domain than the preview, treat it as a redirect and close it.
- Compare with kakobuy.com. For any page claiming to be KakoBuy, read the hostname from the right: it must end in
kakobuy.com. Our domain test shows examples that fail. - Never log in through a link, and never pay outside kakobuy.com. Type the address or use a bookmark when you sign in. Pay per order, on KakoBuy itself.
We suggest paying per order, whatever KakoBuy's account-balance wording says. A PayPal payment must also use a shipping address matching the KakoBuy recipient address, so a payment arranged through a third party is likely to fail even before it reaches the question of trust.
Preview, expand, compare, then log in by typing the address.
A worked example: triaging 12 links from one channel post
Take a hypothetical post, invented for illustration, with 12 links. Sorting them by what they are tells you how much work the post will need. The counts and costs were computed in Python.
| Link type | Count | Share | What to do |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address | 5 | 41.7% | Open; rebuild the KakoBuy link yourself |
| Shortened link | 4 | 33.3% | Expand first; drop if unreadable |
| Agent-wrapped link | 2 | 16.7% | Extract the item ID; check the agent's status |
| Unknown domain | 1 | 8.3% | Do not open |
Ready to use: 5 of 12 = 41.7%
Needs work: 4 + 2 = 6 of 12 = 50%
Skip: 1 of 12 = 8.3%
Now price one of the five direct rows. Take a ¥200 item (roughly $28, an invented price) at 500 g, bound for the UK. KakoBuy's estimator quoted $9.84 on "UK HG dedicated line PT" for 500 g on 12 October 2026, no dimensions. With the typical ¥8 declaration fee, about $1.12:
$28.00 item + $9.84 shipping + $1.12 declaration = $38.96, of which shipping and fees are 28%
The point is that the price worth checking is on kakobuy.com, not in the post. A channel post that quotes "about $30 landed" without naming a line, weight and date is a number you cannot reproduce. See our UK page for the other lines.
Half the links in a typical post need work; price the clean ones on kakobuy.com.
Discord, giveaways and referral links
KakoBuy ties much of its community activity to Discord. Its announcements describe giveaways, event channels and video-sharing contests there, and its coupon packs are redeemed at User Center, Coupons, Redeem on kakobuy.com. That makes a Discord server a legitimate place to learn about events. It also makes it a place where impersonators ask for codes and logins.
Referral links are a separate matter. KakoBuy's help pages say that a purchase link shared through its Share W2C tool automatically carries the sharer's commission link, and its referral programme rewards people whose invited friends reach cumulative payments of ¥100. So a creator's link in a bio is likely to be a referral link. It is not dangerous in itself, but it means the creator earns if you register through it. We print no codes; the invitation code page explains the rules, and the Reddit and Discord page describes what each community is good for.
Whatever the server says, the checks stay the same: official announcements live on kakobuy.com, support runs through the site and its terms-page email, and no genuine step needs your password in a chat.
Discord is good for news; treat its codes and DMs as unverified until kakobuy.com confirms them.
Turn a channel find into your own row
Once a link passes the checks, do not rely on the channel to keep it alive. Posts get edited, bio links get replaced and servers shut. Copy the original marketplace address and item ID into your own sheet the same day. The haul tracker CSV keeps the marketplace link and the KakoBuy link in separate columns, so a lost channel costs you nothing. The row check CSV tests any row you plan to buy, and use the 9-point score to decide how far to trust a creator's whole sheet.
- kakobuy-haul-tracker.csv — a tracker with a column per link type
- kakobuy-row-check.csv — a test table for each row
If you would rather skip the channels, the KakoBuy spreadsheet homepage lists current finds with door quotes, while the contact page offers a scannable WhatsApp code for anyone avoiding an agent account.
Copy the marketplace link into your own sheet on day one.
Questions buyers ask
Is a KakoBuy spreadsheet on Telegram safe to open?
The sheet itself is usually a Google Sheets or Docs page, and opening one is low-risk. The danger sits in what it asks next: a login, a deposit or an APK. KakoBuy's own APK was hosted on static.kakobuy.com on 12 October 2026, so a file from a chat is not that. Open, read, never sign in, and pay only on kakobuy.com.
Why do Beacons and Linktree pages hold so many KakoBuy links?
A link-in-bio page lets one profile show many links, so a creator can list a sheet, a Discord invite and an agent link together. The agent link may carry the creator's referral, which KakoBuy's help pages say is built into shared purchase links. That is normal. Treat the page as a menu, and verify each destination hostname yourself before tapping.
Does KakoBuy run its own Telegram group?
We could not find one. In the 142 help articles and announcements we read on 12 October 2026, KakoBuy named Reddit and Discord, and its homepage linked a Discord server, but we saw no Telegram link. A Telegram group claiming to be official support is therefore unverified. Use the support route inside kakobuy.com and the email address in its terms page.
What does a safe link preview look like?
The preview shows a hostname you recognise, such as a Google Sheets address or kakobuy.com, and a page title that matches the post. A mismatch is the warning. If a preview shows one domain and the destination loads another, you have met a redirect. Long-press or hover to read the real address first, and stop if it ends in anything other than kakobuy.com for a KakoBuy page.
Should I pay someone in a chat who offers to order for me?
No. A chat offer that skips kakobuy.com puts your money outside any agent protection. KakoBuy's help pages say a PayPal payment must use a shipping address matching the KakoBuy recipient address, which only works on its own checkout. If you want help ordering, the safe route is to pay per order on kakobuy.com yourself.
Can a Discord server give me an official KakoBuy coupon?
Possibly, but check where it came from. KakoBuy's announcements say giveaways and event details are posted in its Discord, and its coupon packs are redeemed at User Center, Coupons, Redeem on kakobuy.com. A stranger's DM with a code is a referral code at best. We never print codes; the invitation page explains redemption and what a referrer earns.
