Using a KakoBuy spreadsheet you found on Reddit: what each post type offers, what to test and what to save

Checked and updated .

Short answer: A KakoBuy spreadsheet from Reddit is a lead, not a verified list. Posts come in four kinds: finds lists, haul logs, QC threads and shipping data posts, and each fails in its own way. Before paying, open the row's original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 link, price it with KakoBuy's estimator, and save the item ID, because Reddit links break through agent wrappers, short links and deleted posts.

Reddit-style finds to test with the four-step check

These product photos come from repbuysheet.com, which has 10,000+ products to choose from. Each card opens its product page there with the full photo set and price; the selection changes every month.

What a Reddit KakoBuy spreadsheet really is

A KakoBuy spreadsheet on Reddit is somebody's shopping notes, published. It might be a tidy list of finds, a diary of one person's haul or a table of shipping prices. It is rarely checked by anyone but its author, and it ages from the day it is posted.

That does not make it useless. Reddit is where buyers compare notes, and KakoBuy itself points people there: in its December 2023 apology letter about delayed parcels, KakoBuy told users to "follow Kakobuy's Reddit and Discord" for further compensation activities, and its homepage links an official Discord. Both are places to find current information, though a thread from last spring says nothing about today's stock.

This page does not name or quote any user, and it cites no subreddit statistics, because we have not measured them. It explains what the common post types give you, how to test a row from one, and why the links break.

A Reddit sheet is a lead to test, and the test takes about five minutes per row.

Four kinds of KakoBuy post, and how each one fails

Almost every KakoBuy spreadsheet post falls into one of four shapes. Knowing which you are looking at tells you what to check first.

KakoBuy spreadsheet post types on Reddit: value and weak spot
Post typeWhat it gives youWhere it failsCheck first
Finds listMany rows with links and pricesRows go dead; no photos; undatedOpen 10 rows; see the 9-point score
Haul logOne buyer's real order, often with photos and weightsOne batch, one date, one person's eyeItem ID in the photo matches the row
QC threadWarehouse photos with a verdict from the posterPhotos can be old, cropped or mislabelledPhoto date and the item number
Shipping data postA real parcel's weight, line, price and daysOne country, one date; lines and prices changeRerun the estimator for your country

Finds lists carry the most rows and the most rot. Haul logs carry the least rot, but only one item each. A good approach is to use a finds list to choose candidates, then look for a haul log or QC thread that shows the same item ID. Our page on sheets with QC photos covers how to read what you find.

Use finds lists for candidates, and haul logs and QC threads for evidence.

Why posters share, and what KakoBuy's own pages say about it

Understanding the incentive helps you read the post. KakoBuy runs a bonus-points scheme for people who post about their purchases. Its help page on posting rewards advises posters to use the "Share W2C" function in the completed-package list, which, in KakoBuy's words, builds a page of titles, prices, purchase links and QC photos. The same page says the shared purchase link automatically includes the sharer's exclusive offline commission link, and that users who register or buy through it earn the sharer additional bonuses. These are KakoBuy's own statements about its programme.

Two practical consequences follow. First, many Reddit rows you meet may be W2C-generated, so the page the link opens may show someone else's purchase and be tied to that person's account. Second, commission links are a normal, disclosed part of the ecosystem, not a sign of a scam. What matters is whether the post also keeps the original Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address, so you can rebuild the row with your own link.

You will also see invitation codes pasted into threads. These are other users' referral codes. We print none here; KakoBuy announces its official codes on its announcement page and its Discord, and the invitation code page explains how redemption and referral rewards work.

Posters may earn from your click; keep the item ID so the row works with any link.

Why Reddit links break

Reddit links stop working for four reasons, and each one has a fix you can apply in advance.

  • Agent wrappers. Many older posts use links in a closed agent's format, with the marketplace address inside. As of 12 October 2026 we label CNFans, AllChinaBuy and PandaBuy Closed. The item number often survives inside the wrapper.
  • Short links. A shortener or share code hides the marketplace address. When the code expires, nothing in the post tells you which item it was.
  • Deleted or edited posts. Authors remove threads, replace spreadsheets or change a link after a seller moves. The photo may remain while the row is gone.
  • Delisted items. Even a perfect link dies when the seller removes the product. Nothing about the post fixes that.

The common cure is to store the original marketplace link, or at least the item ID, the moment you see a row. Our old-sheet recheck shows the rescue steps in detail, and the link converter builds a KakoBuy link from a Taobao, Weidian or 1688 address. KakoBuy's link format, which we tested on 12 October 2026, starts kakobuy.com/item/details?url= and then carries the marketplace link in encoded form.

Short links and wrappers hide the item; the original address is what keeps a row alive.

Testing a Reddit row before you pay: a worked example

The four steps below take a row from "interesting post" to "ready to order".

  1. Open the original link. Check that the page loads, the price is near what the post says and the size or colour option still exists.
  2. Open it in KakoBuy. A row that works shows a price in yuan, size options and a shipping estimate.
  3. Find the weight. Look for it in a haul log photo; if there is none, estimate and add a margin.
  4. Price it to your door. Use the estimator for your country at that weight, then add the ¥8 declaration fee KakoBuy calls typical.

Here is a hypothetical row from a post: a ¥250 item (about $35, an example price) weighing 500 g. The estimator listed the lines below on 12 October 2026 at a 500 g weight with no dimensions; we take the cheapest line listed for each country. Costs add the item at about $0.14 per yuan and a ¥8 declaration fee of about $1.12. Sums were computed in Python.

One hypothetical ¥250 item at 500 g, priced to five countries
CountryCheapest line listedShippingLanded total
UKUK HG dedicated line PT$9.84$45.96
CanadaCanada HD Line$13.60$49.72
GermanyEurope DHL Line (Express Line)$15.90$52.02
SpainSpain CTT Line$18.40$54.52
USUSPS Tax-Free Line (Battery Accepted)$20.95$57.07

UK: $35.00 + $9.84 + $1.12 = $45.96

US: $35.00 + $20.95 + $1.12 = $57.07, which is 1.63 times the item price

Difference: $57.07 − $45.96 = $11.11 for the same parcel

Two notes on the table. EU buyers also pay KakoBuy's €3 per parcel, added to shipping at checkout, and import VAT applies from the first euro. On the cheapest US line the tax-free label means duty is handled for you, but a US poster's total may be quoted on a non-tax-free line, so compare line names, not just totals. Our USA and UK pages list every line.

The same ¥250 row cost $45.96 to the UK and $57.07 to the US; reprice each Reddit row for your country.

Saving the original marketplace link: a short archive routine

A Reddit thread is a poor archive, so build your own as you read. It takes a minute per row and saves hours later.

What to record from a Reddit KakoBuy post, and why

Item IDThe digits after id=, itemID= or offer/Rebuilds the row when a wrapper dies

Shop nameAs shown on the item pageFinds the item after a relisting

The KakoBuy haul tracker CSV has columns for most of these: item in your words, marketplace link, KakoBuy link, size and colour, price, order number, arrival date, two date columns for free storage (100 days after arrival) and returns (5 days after arrival). Paste a promising row into it as soon as you spot it. For screening, the row check CSV gives you nine tests.

Record six fields per row and the thread can vanish without taking your list with it.

Paying safely after a Reddit find

Whatever you read, payment happens on kakobuy.com, and nowhere else. A thread that asks you to pay a poster, send money for a "better price" or log in on another site is not a KakoBuy process. Our advice is to pay per order: one payment per order, one per parcel, nothing left parked. KakoBuy's help pages talk about an account balance, which is why we spell this out. Should you prefer not to register with an agent, the WhatsApp QR code on the contact page reaches us. The KakoBuy spreadsheet homepage collects current rows with door quotes if a Reddit list turns out stale.

Reddit informs the choice; kakobuy.com takes the payment.

Questions buyers ask

Which kind of Reddit post gives the most reliable KakoBuy row?

A haul log with its own warehouse photos is usually the strongest evidence, because the poster actually received the item. Even then, treat it as one data point from one batch on one date. Check that the post shows the weight on the parcel photo, then price the row yourself: a 500 g parcel to the UK quoted $9.84 on KakoBuy's cheapest listed line on 12 October 2026.

Why is a row from an old Reddit thread more likely to be dead?

Sellers on Taobao and Weidian delist and relist items constantly, and a post is frozen at the moment it was written. KakoBuy gives free storage for 100 days and a return window of only 5 days after stock-in, so a row that waits months for you to test it has no safety net. Sort threads by date and test the newest rows first.

Do Reddit posters earn money when I use their KakoBuy link?

Often, yes. KakoBuy's own help page on posting rewards says a link shared through its Share W2C function automatically carries the sharer's commission link, and that sharing posts earns bonus points. That is not a reason to distrust a post, but it is a reason to also copy the item ID and open the item through a link you choose.

Can I trust photos pasted into a Reddit post?

Treat them as claims. KakoBuy said that some QC images created or updated between 2 and 8 May 2026 displayed wrongly or were unavailable after warehouse upload permissions were misused by external parties. A screenshot can also show a different item ID than the row. Match the photo to the item number, check the date, and wait for your own warehouse photos.

What should I save from a Reddit thread before it disappears?

Save the marketplace item ID, the shop name, the size and colour chosen, the poster's quoted CNY price, the post date and a screenshot of the QC photo. Those six fields rebuild a row even if the post is deleted or the agent link dies. Our haul tracker CSV has 23 columns that hold all six, with the original link in its own column.

Is a shipping-cost post enough to budget my own parcel?

No. A post gives one parcel to one country on one line at one date. KakoBuy's estimator listed 5 different cheapest 500 g quotes for the US, Germany, Spain, the UK and Canada on 12 October 2026, from $9.84 to $20.95. Take the poster's weight and line name, then rerun the quote for your own postcode and the same weight.
