Canada's thirteen line entries, from 4 to 45 days
Canada's list is the only one with a sea route. A dash means no quote at that weight; KakoBuy says third-party prices follow the market, so check again before paying.
| Line | 500 g | 1,000 g | 2,000 g | Transit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Canada Sea Packet-F | $20.24 | $20.24 | $29.47 | 35-45 days |

Two lines are cheaper than any air line from 1 kg: Canada Sea Packet-F and SAL, both 35-45 days. Everything else runs 4 to 25 days. The sea packet is priced flat at $20.24 for 500 g and 1 kg, which suggests a 1 kg minimum charge that KakoBuy does not state, and the same flat pattern appears on its UK cosmetics line.
Sea is a 1 kg-and-up choice; below that the air lines are cheaper.
What the sea packet saves, and what it costs in weeks
The trade is clearest in a short comparison against Canada HD Line, the cheapest air line from 1 kg up.
| Weight | Sea packet | HD Line | Sea saves | Extra wait |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 500 g | $20.24 | $13.60 | −$6.64 (sea costs more) | about 27-28 days |
| 1,000 g | $20.24 | $23.49 | $3.25 | about 27-28 days |
| 2,000 g | $29.47 | $39.96 | $10.49 (26%) | about 27-28 days |
The extra wait compares 35 with 7 days at the short ends of the windows, and 45 with 18 at the long ends. At 1 kg you save $3.25 and wait an extra month; at 2 kg the saving works out at about 39 cents per day of waiting. SAL, at $23.48 for 1 kg, is one cent below HD Line for the same 35-45 days, so it never makes sense at that weight.
Choose sea for a 2 kg parcel you do not need soon; at 1 kg the saving is only $3.25.
The CAD 20 line, GST/HST and brokerage
For goods from China that are not covered by CUSMA, the CBSA exempts duty and tax only up to CAD 20, by post or courier. Above that, GST/HST and any duty apply on the full value, not on the excess. The CAD 40 and CAD 150 bands apply only to goods from the US or Mexico. KakoBuy's help page still lists Canada at CAD 20, which is correct, next to rows that are outdated.
Carriers can add brokerage or handling fees on top, as private charges for collecting the tax. KakoBuy does not publish an amount for Canada, and we found none.
We do not suggest splitting a haul to stay under CAD 20. The threshold applies to the value of what arrives, and KakoBuy says large identical quantities are more likely to be treated as commercial.
Above CAD 20 expect GST/HST on the full value and possibly a carrier's brokerage fee.
A 1 kg and a 2 kg parcel to Canada, costed
The figures are estimator quotes of 12 October 2026 (no dimensions) plus KakoBuy's customs declaration, generally ¥8, or about $1.12 at ¥1 ≈ $0.14. Goods, GST/HST and brokerage are excluded.
1 kg, Canada Sea Packet-F, 35-45 days: $20.24 + $1.12 = $21.36
1 kg, Canada HD Line, 7-18 days: $23.49 + $1.12 = $24.61
1 kg, Canada HG Line-H, 5-20 days: $25.21 + $1.12 = $26.33
2 kg, Canada Sea Packet-F: $29.47 + $1.12 = $30.59
2 kg, Canada HD Line: $39.96 + $1.12 = $41.08
2 kg, Canada HG Line-H: $42.13 + $1.12 = $43.25
On the sea packet, 2 kg costs $9.23 more than 1 kg, so the second kilogram is $9.23 against $16.47 on HD Line. The shipping calculator takes your own quote.
The second kilogram costs $9.23 by sea and $16.47 by air.
Choosing among HD, HG, EUB and the rest
Air lines cluster between $23.49 and $32.06 at 1 kg. HD Line is cheapest, HG Line-H adds $1.72 for a window of 5-20 days, and Canada HD Line-electrified at $26.61 is the fast option at 4-10 days and also the battery-ready one. Cosmetics Air Express(Battery,Liquid) is $28.01 for 1 kg over 10-14 days, and EUB-electrified-perfume is $31.82 over 5-15 days. EUB (Batteries and Perfume Not Allowed) costs $28.73 over 15-25 days, the weakest value.
HD Line for price, HD Line-electrified for speed or batteries, and skip EUB.
Delivery notes: carriers, delay cover and the 30-40 day trigger
None of the line names mention Canada Post or a Canadian courier; the only named service is GD-EMS, so we cannot say who delivers each line. One warning for sea buyers: Kako Insurance's delay cover pays 20% of the shipping fee when a parcel passes 30 or 40 days, depending on the route, and the sea packet's normal window starts at 35. We could not verify how the insurance treats sea lines, so ask support before buying cover. See the insurance page.
The USA page and UK page price the neighbouring markets, and the duty-free lines page compares route labels. Our WhatsApp QR on the contact page is the way to ask us anything first.
Check whether delay insurance covers a sea line before you rely on it.
Questions buyers ask
Does KakoBuy ship to Canada, and what is the cheapest line?
Yes. The estimator listed thirteen Canadian line entries on 12 October 2026. Canada HD Line was cheapest by air at $13.60 for 500 g, $23.49 for 1 kg and $39.96 for 2 kg over 7-18 days. Canada Sea Packet-F was cheaper at 1 kg and 2 kg ($20.24, $29.47) but takes 35-45 days.
Is the Canada sea packet worth the wait?
Only for a full kilogram or more. At 1 kg the sea packet saved $3.25 against Canada HD Line, at 2 kg $10.49, or 26%, in exchange for roughly four extra weeks. At 500 g it cost $20.24, which is $6.64 more than HD Line, because the sea price was identical at 500 g and 1 kg. Fill the parcel or fly it.
Do I pay tax on a KakoBuy parcel to Canada?
Goods from China that do not qualify under CUSMA are duty and tax free only up to CAD 20 by post or courier, according to the CBSA. Above that, GST/HST and any duty apply on the full value, not just the excess. The rate depends on your province. KakoBuy's help page lists the CAD 20 threshold correctly.
How long does KakoBuy take to ship to Canada?
Estimator windows ran from 4-10 days (Canada HD Line-electrified) to 35-45 days (sea packet and SAL). rep.tools, which earns a KakoBuy affiliate commission, measured a median of 14.5 days door to door across 69 Canada orders. Add 1 to 7 working days from seller to Xiamen warehouse before the line's clock starts.
Will I pay brokerage fees on a KakoBuy parcel in Canada?
Possibly. Carriers can charge private brokerage or handling fees when they collect GST/HST on delivery, and those fees are separate from the tax. KakoBuy does not publish an amount for Canada and we found none. If a parcel is held, check whether the carrier needs payment online before it will deliver.
