Liquids are the first filter on a perfume row
A perfume row in a KakoBuy sheet is a shipping question disguised as a shopping one. Air and postal carriers restrict liquids and flammables, and KakoBuy's help pages put liquids, powders and compressed gas on the list of goods customs is more likely to stop. Fragrance is mostly alcohol, so it is both a liquid and flammable. That narrows your choices to the few lines whose names say they accept liquids.
The test is simple. Open KakoBuy's shipping estimator, enter your country and a weight, and read the line names. If none mentions liquids or perfume, treat the row as unshippable until KakoBuy support says otherwise. If one does, add its price to the bottle cost before you decide that a bargain is a bargain.
This page uses the word perfume for everything from eau de parfum to cologne and body spray, since the lines treat them the same. It does not recommend scents or sellers.
If the estimator shows no liquid line for your country, skip the row.
Which lines accept liquids, from the estimator
On 12 October 2026 the estimator listed the lines below for the US, UK and Canada. For Germany and Spain, the lines the page listed (the first 8 to 10 per country) did not include one named for liquids, so we cannot say whether a liquid line exists there; ask KakoBuy support before you buy.
| Country | Line as named | 500 g | 1,000 g | 2,000 g | Transit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US | Cosmetics Air Express(Battery,Liquid) | $22.52 | $38.07 | $69.17 | 11-17 days |
| US | EUB (Batteries and Perfume Not Allowed) | $24.78 | $39.35 | $68.49 | 15-25 days |
| UK | Cosmetics Air Express(Battery,Liquid) | $19.25 | $19.25 | $37.02 | 9-15 days |
| Canada | Cosmetics Air Express(Battery,Liquid) | $18.30 | $28.01 | $44.20 | 10-14 days |
| Canada | EUB-electrified-perfume | $18.46 | $31.82 | not listed | 5-15 days |
| Canada | EUB (Batteries and Perfume Not Allowed) | $18.04 | $28.73 | $50.10 | 15-25 days |
Two things stand out. First, the line that excludes perfume is not cheaper in the US: the air express line at $38.07 for 1,000 g undercuts the excluding EUB line at $39.35 and is faster. Second, the UK air express line costs $19.25 at both 500 g and 1,000 g. A flat price across two weights suggests a 1 kg minimum on that line, though KakoBuy does not state it, so a single 250 g sample costs the same as a kilogram. If you want more than one bottle to the UK, fill the first kilogram. See the UK page, the USA page and the Canada page for the other lines.
Use the line whose name says Liquid; in the UK, fill the first kilogram because the price is flat up to 1,000 g.
Glass, cartons and the real weight of a bottle
Weight is the other surprise. A 100 ml bottle holds about 100 g of liquid by volume, but the glass, the cap, the cellophane and the rigid carton triple it. As a planning assumption, not a measured figure, take 300 to 400 g per boxed 100 ml bottle and 150 to 250 g for a 30 ml bottle. Samples and decants weigh far less.
Because lines price in 500 g steps on the estimator, two bottles can cross a band. Your options:
- Ask for the weight. KakoBuy's ¥18 pre-packing service gives the parcel weight within 24 hours, before you pay shipping. You can note a packaging requirement in the remarks box.
- Choose fragile reinforcement. At ¥10 per item, KakoBuy wraps the item in air-column bags, which it says is mainly for ceramics and glass. It updates the weight afterwards.
- Add insurance. KakoBuy states that goods judged fragile by the carrier and damaged in transit are the buyer's loss, so Kako Insurance is worth considering on glass. The insurance page explains the cover.
Do not remove the carton to save weight on a bottle. A bare glass bottle is much more likely to break or leak, and a leaked bottle can taint the other items in the parcel.
Plan 300 to 400 g per boxed 100 ml bottle, reinforce the glass and keep the carton.
Sealed boxes: what the warehouse can and cannot check
KakoBuy's inspectors open garments, bags, suitcases and shoes. For other products, particularly anything in sealed packaging or with a sealing strip, they do not open the item and check only the outside: whether the box is damaged and whether it matches the order. A perfume box is usually wrapped in cellophane, so expect a photo of the sealed carton and nothing more.
So the warehouse cannot tell you whether the scent is what the listing promised, whether the batch code is plausible, or whether the liquid is the right colour. The photos protect you against a crushed box and a wrong item, not against a poor product. KakoBuy's returns rules also set special standards for opened sealed products, so do not break a seal on a bottle you might send back.
That shifts your effort to the row itself, using the row check CSV: does the listing keep the original Taobao or Weidian link, how old is the shop, what does the review history say, and does the price match the live page? A bottle priced far below comparable listings is a warning on its own. For more on what photos you can and cannot get, read our QC photos guide. Ask for a ¥2 personalised photo of the base of the box, where batch and volume information is usually printed.
Expect an outside-only check and put your effort into the seller and the price.
Customs and trademarks: a neutral warning
KakoBuy's help pages say that goods containing large amounts of liquid or powder, and electrical products, may be restricted by customs, and that KakoBuy is not responsible for clearance or legal liability if those risks materialise. They also say its terms prohibit goods that infringe trademarks or copyright and that it publishes a separate policy page on infringing goods.
In practice, two separate risks apply to a perfume parcel:
- Carrier risk. A line that does not accept liquids may hold, return or destroy the parcel. Choose a line whose name mentions liquids and keep the bottle sealed and upright.
- Legal risk. Bottles or boxes that carry a protected name or logo without the owner's permission are trademark-infringing goods, and customs authorities in the US, UK, EU and Canada can seize them. Neither the seller nor the agent can promise delivery.
We do not list rows that market lookalikes of named scents, and we suggest you avoid them. Unbranded or own-label fragrances sold as what they are carry less legal risk, although the liquid-line rules still apply. Duty and VAT also apply on arrival or at checkout depending on the country, as set out on each destination page.
Pick a liquid line for the carrier, and buy only goods you can lawfully import.
A two-bottle parcel on the air express line
This is a hypothetical parcel: two boxed 100 ml bottles at ¥150 each (¥300, about $42.00 at roughly $0.14 per yen), together about 1,000 g by our planning weight. Each bottle gets ¥10 fragile reinforcement, ¥20 in total or $2.80, and the ¥8 customs declaration is KakoBuy's typical figure ($1.12). Shipping is the estimator's 1,000 g quote on Cosmetics Air Express, 12 October 2026. Sums were run in Python.
Items: 2 × ¥150 = ¥300 ≈ $42.00; reinforcement 2 × ¥10 = ¥20 ≈ $2.80; declaration ¥8 ≈ $1.12
US: $42.00 + $38.07 + $2.80 + $1.12 = $83.99, or $42.00 per bottle
UK: $42.00 + $19.25 + $2.80 + $1.12 = $65.17, or $32.59 per bottle
Canada: $42.00 + $28.01 + $2.80 + $1.12 = $73.93, or $36.97 per bottle
Shipping share: US 38.07 ÷ 83.99 = 45%; UK 19.25 ÷ 65.17 = 30%; Canada 28.01 ÷ 73.93 = 38%
Shipping is a third to nearly half of the cost of a ¥150 bottle, which makes a single bottle poor value on these lines. The UK's flat first kilogram favours buying several bottles in one parcel; the US price more than triples from 500 g to 2,000 g, so extra weight is not free there. Quotes change with the carrier market, so re-check the estimator and pay per order. If you would rather not open an agent account, scan our WhatsApp QR on the contact page.
Shipping takes 30% to 45% of a two-bottle parcel, so buy bottles together and only on a liquid line.
Questions buyers ask
Can KakoBuy ship perfume and cologne to the UK?
On KakoBuy's estimator, 12 October 2026, the UK list included 'Cosmetics Air Express (Battery, Liquid)' at $19.25 for 1,000 g, which suggests it accepts liquids. Confirm with KakoBuy support before ordering, because line rules can change. Do not pick a line that does not mention liquids, and expect the carrier or customs to refuse bottles on one that does not.
Does KakoBuy open a sealed perfume box to check it?
No. KakoBuy's help centre says sealed items, and products outside the garment, bag, suitcase and shoe categories packed with sealing labels, are checked from the outside only. Inspectors look at the box for damage and compare it with the order description. They cannot confirm the scent, the batch or the liquid, so the seller's reputation is your main protection.
Why does a 100 ml bottle weigh so much in a parcel?
Glass and a rigid carton add weight. As a planning figure, assume 300 to 400 g per boxed 100 ml bottle, then confirm with a ¥18 pre-packing request, which KakoBuy says returns the parcel weight within 24 hours. Two such bottles can push you over the 500 g band into the 1,000 g quote, which was $38.07 for the US air line.
Is it legal to import perfume I buy through an agent?
Ordinary fragrance is legal to import in most countries, but liquids and flammables face carrier limits, and goods that infringe trademarks can be seized by customs. KakoBuy's terms prohibit trademark-infringing goods, and it says it is not liable for customs clearance of restricted items. Check your own country's rules and buy only items you are sure are lawful to import.
Can I get a refund if the bottle arrives leaking?
Only partly, and by different routes. KakoBuy says goods it judges fragile and damaged in transit by the carrier are the user's loss unless insured, so consider Kako Insurance for a bottle. If the damage happened domestically before the warehouse, KakoBuy says the customer does not pay. Report problems within 72 hours of signing, per its receiving rules.
Do cologne and perfume share the same shipping lines?
Yes. The estimator names lines by what they accept, not by scent type, so cologne, eau de toilette and body spray all count as liquids. In Canada KakoBuy listed an 'EUB-electrified-perfume' line at $31.82 for 1,000 g beside the air express line at $28.01. Aerosol sprays are a different, stricter category, so ask support first.
