Where OrientDig fits when KakoBuy lets you down
If a KakoBuy order is cancelled or the site is unreachable, the row itself is usually still fine: it points at a Weidian, Taobao or 1688 listing that another agent can buy. OrientDig is one of the open agents that can take it.
- Suits: a Weidian row where you want the link template filled in for you.
- Suits: buyers who want a no-handling-fee agent as the second account.
- Does not suit: anyone who needs more than 90 days of free storage or a published payment list, because we could not find the latter.
OrientDig works as a spare when the listing is Chinese-marketplace and the haul can ship within 90 days.
The link template, field by field
KakoBuy wraps a marketplace address as kakobuy.com/item/details?url= plus the encoded address. OrientDig instead takes the item number and a platform tag. Our notes record the pattern below from a converter run on 5 October 2026, not from OrientDig's own help pages.
| Part | KakoBuy row | OrientDig link |
|---|---|---|
| Start | kakobuy.com/item/details?url= | orientdig.com/product?id= |
| Item number | inside the encoded Weidian address, after itemID= | the same number |
| Platform | implied by the address | &platform=WEIDIAN |
Use the link converter to pull the item number out of a KakoBuy link. For Taobao and 1688 rows we saw no platform value, so paste the original address into OrientDig's search box.
For a Weidian row, copy the item number and add the platform tag.

The 90-day clock against KakoBuy's 100
Storage is where the two agents differ most. KakoBuy's help centre gives 100 days, a reminder email at day 90, then a 30-day cooling-off period where an item cannot be shipped until ¥10 per order is paid. See the KakoBuy storage page for the full rules.
Item held 130 days at KakoBuy: days 101 to 130 = one 30-day block = ¥10, about $1.40
Item held 130 days at OrientDig: days 91 to 130 = 40 days, so two blocks of 30 if each started block is charged = ¥20, about $2.80
OrientDig does not say how part blocks are counted, so the second line is an assumption. The money is small; the real risk is the destruction date, which neither page lets you move.
Ship before day 90 at OrientDig, not day 100.
Before you pay: five checks on the moved row
- Compare the item price with the KakoBuy page; both show CNY.
- Confirm the shop name matches, to be sure it is the same listing.
- Read the shipping estimate for your country before checkout.
- Pay for that order alone, when you place it, not in advance.
- Save the order number next to the original KakoBuy row in your haul tracker.
Customs depend on where you live, not on the agent. US buyers face duty on China-origin parcels since the de minimis end in 2025, and German buyers face import VAT from the first euro. Our Germany page shows KakoBuy's €3 parcel duty approach; OrientDig's equivalent was not in our notes. Other fallbacks are listed on the agents hub, including Basetao.
If you would rather not open a second account, scan the QR on our contact page and pay per order.
A moved row needs the same five checks as a first order.
Questions buyers ask
What does an OrientDig product link look like?
Our notes record the pattern orientdig.com/product?id=
Is OrientDig's 90-day storage the same as KakoBuy's?
Not quite. OrientDig's help page gives 90 days free and 10 CNY per extra 30 days. KakoBuy gives 100 days, then a 30-day cooling-off period in which items cannot be shipped until ¥10 per order is paid. Ten days of difference matters if your last seller is slow, so ship together as soon as the final item is in.
Does OrientDig really charge no service fee?
OrientDig states no handling fee on the common platforms, and one third-party directory says the same. Neither tells us about special platforms or used goods. KakoBuy's help centre also charges nothing beyond item cost and shipping, so the fee does not separate them. Look at your cart total before paying and keep the screenshot.
Is OrientDig's Trustpilot score a reason to switch?
It is a fair sign, not proof. OrientDig showed 4.7 from 961 reviews on 5 October 2026, with the newest dated 21 August, while KakoBuy showed 4.2 from 321 reviews on 12 October. The scores are measured on different dates and review pools, so use them to shortlist a backup, then test with one small order.
Which payment methods does OrientDig accept compared with KakoBuy?
We did not find OrientDig's payment list in our notes, so we cannot compare it. KakoBuy's help centre names PayPal, Alipay, WeChat Pay and Wise, with PayPal carrying a fee quoted as 2.9% or 3.5% plus US$0.30. Read OrientDig's checkout page before moving a row and pay for that order only.
