The 10% clause in iTaoBuy's terms, and what it means if you move a KakoBuy row there

Checked and updated .

Short answer: iTaoBuy's Terms, clause 8.3, set a 10% technical service fee that applies to account deposits, order payment and international freight, so moving a KakoBuy row there can cost noticeably more. KakoBuy's help centre charges no handling fee beyond item cost and shipping. iTaoBuy stores items 90 days and destroys them 30 days after expiry. Its homepage answered on 12 October 2026, so it is open, but read the clause first.

Rows to price after adding the 10% line

These product photos come from repbuysheet.com, which has 10,000+ products to choose from. Each card opens its product page there with the full photo set and price; the selection changes every month.

Is a 10% agent the right backup for a failed KakoBuy row?

For some rows, yes. If a Weidian seller refuses KakoBuy's purchase and you still want the item, a paid backup beats no item. For a whole haul, no: KakoBuy's published fee is nothing beyond item cost and shipping, and a tenth on top adds up.

  • Suits: one hard-to-get row where the fee is a fraction of the item's value.
  • Suits: buyers who like a named UK-registered operator.
  • Does not suit: cost-minded hauls, or anyone who cannot read the clause before paying.

Use iTaoBuy for a single row, after the fee is on screen.

The fee on a worked basket

This is a hypothetical basket, not a quote: one ¥200 item (about $28) and ¥250 of international shipping (about $35). We assume the 10% applies once to each, because the clause does not say whether charges stack.

On the item: 200 × 0.10 = ¥20

On the shipping: 250 × 0.10 = ¥25

Total fee: ¥20 + ¥25 = ¥45, about $6.30

Same basket on KakoBuy: ¥0 service fee, plus a declaration of generally ¥8

If the fee stacked at deposit and again at payment, the cost would be higher. That is why the KakoBuy fees page is worth printing for comparison.

Expect about ¥45 extra on a ¥450 basket, possibly more.

Moving the row: reuse the encoded address

The swap is simple here. KakoBuy puts the encoded marketplace address after url=, and iTaoBuy's pattern, per our 5 October notes, is itaobuy.com/product-detail?url= plus an encoded address. Copy the encoded part from the KakoBuy link or use the link converter, then place it after iTaoBuy's start.

  1. Copy the text after url= in the KakoBuy link.
  2. Paste it after itaobuy.com/product-detail?url=.
  3. Check the shop name and CNY price, then look for the fee line at checkout.
  4. Pay for the order alone, not into a balance.

The encoded address carries over unchanged.

Storage and the destruction date

iTaoBuy gives 90 days from Stored and destroys goods 30 days after expiry. KakoBuy gives 100 days and a 30-day cooling-off period during which items are held until ¥10 per order is paid; its storage page sets it out. At iTaoBuy we saw no price for holding items in that last 30 days, so treat day 90 as the deadline.

Treat day 90 as the last safe day at iTaoBuy.

Customs and where to look next

Customs rules follow your destination. UK VAT on goods up to £135 is collected at the point of sale, with duty relief continuing for now; our UK page shows the KakoBuy lines. iTaoBuy's handling was not in our notes. If its fee puts you off, the agents hub lists others, such as RizzitGO, and the contact page has our WhatsApp QR for a second opinion.

Price the fee, then compare it with the same row on KakoBuy.

Questions buyers ask

Where does iTaoBuy state its 10% fee?

In clause 8.3 of its Terms, read on 6 October 2026, which describes a 10% technical service fee on deposits, on order payment and on international freight. An earlier check found sources that disagreed, ranging from undisclosed to 3 to 5%. The terms are the official text, so take 10% as the figure to plan around until your cart shows otherwise.

Does the 10% apply to shipping as well as goods?

The clause names international freight as one of three points, so yes, shipping can carry it. We could not tell from the text whether the points stack when the same money passes through more than one. Ask iTaoBuy support before paying, and note that KakoBuy's help centre adds nothing to shipping beyond the line price.

How long does iTaoBuy keep stored items?

90 days from the Stored status, and its terms say items are destroyed 30 days after expiry. Earlier sources gave 60 days, so the 6 October reading of the terms is the one we use. KakoBuy gives 100 days, a reminder at day 90 and a 30-day cooling-off period at ¥10 per order.

What does an iTaoBuy product link look like?

Our notes from 5 October 2026 record itaobuy.com/product-detail?url=, with the encoded marketplace address after url=. That is the same idea as KakoBuy's kakobuy.com/item/details?url=, so the encoded part can be reused. Decode it with the converter, paste it after the iTaoBuy start, and check the shop name and the price against the KakoBuy page before you pay.

Who operates iTaoBuy?

Its terms name Sell Good Things Technology Co., Limited, a UK company number 16174547 registered in London. We did not find a founding year, so we give none. KakoBuy shows three names in different places, listed on our legitimacy page. A named company helps with accountability but does not settle service quality.
